Privacy

Presence is designed for two people to share a quiet, private space. This page explains what we collect and how we use it. This page is maintained by the Presence team and reflects current practices in the app.
What we collect
- Account: email address, display name, optional avatar.
- Pairing: the invite code you used and the identity of the person you paired with.
- Shared content: the moments, voice notes, photos, timeline items, goals, and journal entries you create.
- Presence signals: your set status, local time zone, and — if you enable weather — an approximate city (never precise coordinates stored).
- Errors and product events: crash reports and lightweight events (signup, pair, unpair) to understand and improve the app.
Who can see what
- Anything you share inside your paired space is visible only to you and your partner.
- Nothing is public. Presence has no feed, followers, or sharing to third parties for marketing.
- The Presence team can access data only when necessary to investigate an abuse report or a bug.
Third-party services
- Lovable Cloud (Supabase): hosts the database and authentication.
- Lovable AI Gateway (Google Gemini): generates the companion's suggestions and moderates messages.
- Open-Meteo: provides weather when you enable it. We send an approximate location and receive the forecast.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Row-Level Security scopes every table to your paired space. Passwords are hashed by our auth provider and checked against public breach data to reject known-compromised credentials. Presence is not end-to-end encrypted — the service can read message content if required for moderation or debugging.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from You → Delete account. This removes your profile, memberships, and the couple you're part of. Individual messages you authored are removed with your account.
Ages
Presence is for adults 18+. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
